Saturday was a beautiful day in Phoenix. Sunny, warm (but not too hot), a light breeze. Quintessential this-is-why-we-live-here weather.

A perfect day for the zoo!

There were family photo opps:

And moments of fun and learning:

But mostly? Mostly, there was this:

Dude didn’t want to be in the stroller, didn’t want to be carried, didn’t want to walk on his own. Um, what else is there?

So we paid $40 to run through the zoo with a yelling toddler, inviting sideways stares from other parents, (Oh, kudos to you for having a kid who behaves perfectly at the zoo) before finally admitting that “at least we tried” and slinking back out.

Parenting is all about good intentions, yes?
